Position Definitions for National Event Accreditation
Accreditation Type: | Application Process: |
***An appropriate and clear passport style photo must be attached to your account. Please note, photos with sunglasses, cameras, side profiles, images of characters or other people, and/or profiles missing a photo etc will not be accepted. |

Athlete | Athletes are automatically entitled to Accreditation without the need to formally apply. |
Coach |
A coach will only be accepted as an Accredited Person for each Event if:
Applications must be completed through Swim Central. Accreditation applications will not be accepted on the day of competition. |
Team Manager | Persons within this category must be a member of Swimming Australia and shall only be granted accreditation if in a working capacity for his/her club. They must also hold a valid working with children check from their respective state. |
National Institutes (NINs) |
Persons in this category are contracted personnel by State/National Institutes such as QAS, NSWIS etc, must hold valid working with children check and the appropriate registration certificates based on the role being performed. This is managed by one ‘NIN Admin’ to complete for all staff. Team Manager: this is the hub manager for the institute and must hold valid working with children check and must supply the organisations Certificate of Currency/Public Liabilibity Insurance. TEAM SUPPORT PASS INCLUDES: Exercise Physiologist: must hold valid working with children check and current ESSA Certificate of Registration AspS1 of 2 Massage Therapist: must hold valid working with children check and Diploma in Remedial Massage Psychologist: must hold valid working with children check and current AHPRA Certificate of Registration Strength & Conditioning Coach: must hold valid working with children check and current Coach ASCA Level 2 Certificate

Club Physiotherapist | Persons in this category are contracted personnel by a team/club and must hold valid Working with Children Check, Public Liability Insurance and/or Certificate of Currency and AHPRA Registration Certificate. |
MC Carer |
Due to this being a National event, access to pool deck to support multi class athletes is strictly limited to those who have the A and/or T Exceptions attached to their classification. We encourage participants and attendees to maintain appropriate levels of wellbeing, independence, and self-management to be able to navigate the competition environment and managing the rigours of elite competition.

Contractor | Contractors of Swimming Australia must apply for accreditation to access their respective areas during competitions once all required documentation and inductions have been completed. |
Media |
Those applying for media accreditations are subject to approval from Swimming Australia. Access to athletes and coaches is via the mixed zone, or with prior approval from Swimming Australia media manager. There will be no access on pool deck except from designated, and signed, media areas. |
State Member Organisation | Persons in this category are those who are representing State Organisations such as, Swimming QLD, Swimming NSW etc. This position will have restricted access on pool deck. State coaches will need to apply for a ‘Coach’ accreditation if wishing to access the coaching areas on pool deck as State Member Organisation accreditations will not have this access. |
Technical Official | Technical Officials who have been nominated to officiate at a National level event will apply for accreditation through Swim Central. |
Swimming Australia may in its sole discretion restrict the number of Accredited Persons in relation to each Event. If a club or State applies for accreditations over their allocated number of accreditations the club will be contacted to confirm which accreditations will be cancelled.

Subject to the number of Accreditations available for the Event, Accreditation shall be considered in respect of persons who meet the eligibility criteria and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of entry to the Event. Persons who have breached the Terms and Conditions of Entry for Accredited Persons at a prior Event may be refused Accreditation at Swimming Australia’s sole discretion.
Accreditation is non-transferable and does not authorise Accredited Persons to be accompanied by dependent minors or guests in areas designated exclusively for Accredited Persons, such as the pool deck.
Accreditation must be displayed at all times when accessing and while in designated areas for Accredited Persons.
